The Sixpounder - Biography

Biography

Paul’s composing skills and Phil’s lyrical talent in the year 2008 made what you know today as The Sixpounder. The sound of our band was branded by the fans themselves though and it is supposed to be somewhat of a „mixture of rock & roll and metal”. What it basically means is that it is likeable even by people who openly admit to dislike heavy music. For us, as band members, it has always been the same – giving the best that we have got either on or off stage!

The Sixpounder was always about thinking out of the box as much as possible and interestingly enough we have won many rock competitions! Our music was appreciated by both the jury and the fans and it seemed pretty rewarding for a metal band, right?

Throughout the years we had toured with Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated, Acid Drinkers, KAT and shared the stage with Motörhead, Soilwork, Parkway Drive, Bullet For My Valentine, Ihsahn, Despised Icon, Dead By April and many other great bands.

We were very proud of our debut album „Going To Hell? Permission Granted!” and that is why we simply had to make the second album bigger, stronger and better!
